The Skies Have It….
For decades we’ve been seeking a way to predict when earthquakes will occur…
Increased seismic activity, reports of animals acting strangely, changes in ground water levels, as well as the possibility of high frequency sounds have all been investigated…
None have proved very successful.
There’s also been reports of weird lights in the skies—just prior to earthquakes.
That phenomena has been difficult to research—because scientists have yet to see them.
But that may have just changed following the appearance of a rather amazing piece of video.
About 30 minutes prior to the devastating Chinese Earthquake of May 12, 2008, so-called earthquake lights were photographed for three and a half minutes by someone using a cellphone in Tianshui, Gansu Province ….
That’s about 280 miles northeast of the epicenter.
Earthquakes lights aren’t new. People have reported them as far back as 300 B.C. and science has tried to create a “best guess” explanation…
But without actually seeing them—they’ve been difficult to research…
One theory suggests they’re caused by plasma discharges becoming electrified in the air as gases stored deep with-in the earth are released prior to the earthquake…
Another explanation is that rocks containing quartz create intense electric fields piezoelectrically by the tectonic movements underground— and those fields are released as before the ultimate tension on the rocks causes them to break during the earthquake.
That rather lengthy video may provide the key to a limited early warning of an impending quake.
Of course, looking at the video—one wonders how the lights would be seen at night.
And a half hour’s warning isn’t a whole lot of lead time—but I suppose it’s better than no warning.
Clearly more research needs to be done—but now—science has a pretty good starting point.

You may have noticed that our old “visitors map” disappeared from this page, replaced with the link: CUTE MYSPACE LAYOUTS. That’s because the website which provided the map discontinued its service, leaving us only with their hyperlink.
We are now using a different Map Generator—but, it will take some time to show WHERE YOU COME FROM.
Be patient!
With readers now in 100 countries, you will soon see YOUR Country represented on line again!
