Spicing Up The Political Stew…
With just about a week to go before the next set of primaries in North Carolina and Indiana—much of the campaign has become focused not on the candidates—but on what a non-candidate is doing.
Right now—it’s Jeremiah Wright who is whose become the main ingredient in this pot of political stew…
DO THREE WRIGHTS MAKE A WRONG?
In just four days, Rev. Wright has made three high profile public appearances—including an extended session atthe National Press Club in Washington on Monday where he made a speech, and then answered questions.
His repeated public statements have left Obama trying to distance himself yet again from the man who is his spiritual mentor…
It would seem that Rev. Wright is enjoying the international attention he’s getting…
Decide for yourself…Take a look at the first nine minutes of the Press Club Question and Answer session…
(The full session is linked to it, in 10-minute long clips)
McCAIN TURNS WRIGHT…
John McCain’s been spending a lot of time these last few days dealing with Wright.
First, he condemned this advertisement put together by the North Carolina Republican party which tied both democratic gubernatorial candidates to Rev. Wright…
By Sunday night, McCain was lashing into Wright’s statements—saying he agreed with Obama’s comments that “Wright was a legitimate topic of discussion. “
McCain also says he will no longer try and stop others from using Wright as an issue in TV commercials and other venues….
Rev. Wright’s comments aside, with so much attention focused on Jeremiah Wright, you’ve got to wonder—is HE running for president too?
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME….
With Hillary Clinton still way behind in the delegate count—and with the real possibility that she’ll lose North Carolina, and be badly hurt in Indiana—some are wondering why she is still running?
Former Clintonista Dick Morris has come up with an interesting theory.
He believes Hillary is trying to establish herself for a run at the presidency in 2012…
As you can read here, his theory is that Hillary believes Obama will be the democratic nominee, and then lose to McCain…
So, he thinks she’s positioning herself as the presumptive front runner for the next time around…
Although Morris knows the Clinton’s well—I’m hard pressed to believe that Hillary is ready at this point to give up on snagging the nomination this summer in Denver.
