Bits & Pieces, Odds & Ends Version12.0

It’s been a while since I’ve had a volcanic eruption—so, here we go letting off a little steam, and getting all in a lava…

THE STARBUCKS STOPS HERE…

The ubiquitous chain has been accused of the coffee house version of taking candy from a baby… In this case, it’s the tips of its lowest level employees…

A California court is ordering the chain to pay its barista’s more than $100-million in back tips.

Seems  Starbucks was taking the barista’s tips and giving them to management—in this case shift supervisors.

The company—which is facing increasing competition from Dunkin’ Donuts to McDonald’s— is also doing things like deemphasizing the selling of sandwiches and other non-coffee items… It wants to get back to the business of grinding beans and selling java.

…And while you’re at it guys—can you just call it small, medium and large instead of that silly tall, grande, venti

I SEE DEAD PEOPLE…

In the movie The Sixth Sense, there’s a troubled little boy who tells Bruce Willis that he “sees dead people…”

Even though the movie has  been around for years—I won’t spoil the ending for you by telling you how he deals with ghosts he’s seeing…

The video below was made several years ago by the dashboard cam of a police cruiser in Garden City, Long Island.

They were chasing a speeding car—and it ends up driving RIGHT  THROUGH a chain link fence—without damaging the fence.

The cops there call it the ghost car… what do you think?

There was not a scratch on the fence. To this day—the cops in Garden City  are baffled.

We’ve now passed 9,000 pageviews—and are regularly read in 72 countries.
