Strange But True….

Sometimes life is flakey… And, to a couple of sisters from Chesapeake, Virginia, being flakey may end up being very profitable for them…

MILKING IT FOR ALL IT’S WORTH…

The pair discovered this cornflake—which they say is shaped like Illinois.

How they spotted THAT shape amidst all the other flakes is a wonder all by itself.

The two sisters decided to sell it on Ebay, and the bidding got up to $200,000 dollars before the site pulled the item from auction saying it was a “food packaging violation” because it wasn’t sealed properly..

The sisters say they’ll start a new auction.

This time they’ll offer a coupon which can be exchanged by the winning bidder for the real thing.

And what will the kids do with all that money?

Well for one, they say, they’ll buy more corn flakes..

Maybe they’ll find the other 49 states!

A REAL HEADACHE….

Chinese doctors are puzzling over a horn which is growing out of the middle of this woman’s head.

95-year old Xiou Ling first noticed the bony protrusion back in 2003—and since then, it’s grown and grown to it’s present shape.

Doctors have NO IDEA why it’s growing.

Her family says it’s saving up funds to have the horn surgically removed.

Perhaps they should offer it on Ebay

If a ceral flake can bring almost a quarter million bucks—think what that could generate.

TANKS FOR THE MULE….

It sounds like a fly, walks like a mule, and does the job of a tank.

It’s creators call it BIGDOG the robot.

Developed by Boston Dynamics for the military—it’s now at the stage where it can move self-propelled over all sorts of terrain. You can read more about it in detail here

Its gasoline engine gives it that “fly-like” whine.

It’s weird to watch—but, it’s for real.

I wonder if you could program it to go to the store to carry back boxes of corn flakes?

The only motivation I can see for buying a cornflake for $200k would be if they had found they other 49 states in cornflakes and were just looking for that last one…even then I still don’t think it’s possible to justify this purchase.
BETWEEN the LINES REPLIES: I’m still amazed anyone would even be LOOKING for a cornflake shaped like Illinois !!!
