And Then There Were Three…

Now that John McCain has clinched it on the Republican side, it’s time to watch it play out between Hillary and Obama..

THE PENN IS MIGHTIER THAN THAN THE CANDIDATE….

The next big event is Pennsylvania primary… And that’s seven weeks away.

Between now and then momentum can be lost—-perceptions can be changed, and the race can twist about in any number of ways….

Hillary’s camp is counting on the demographics in Pennsylvania to help break things her way..

In Ohio and Texas she tried to define Obama as inexperienced–especially with her RED PHONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT advertisement..

Now–the Obama camp is ready to get harsh—and will step up it’s arguments about her abilities…

.

MATH ME NO QUESTIONS…

But, words aren’t the only things the two candidates have to be concerned about… They also have to be worried about numbers..

Following the Ohio/Texas contests, neither one has the ability at this point to win enough delegates to clinch the nomination before the convention…

So it comes down to super delegates..

They’ll be the deciders.

And for Hillary to prevail she needs to convince the super delegates to commit to her.

BANKING ON THE SUPER DELEGATES…

Super-delegates are elected officials… As of this writing, there are  794 of them. (Not including those from Michigan and Florida whose primaries were voided by the DNC)

Of those 794 Super-delegates—its been estimated about half of them are up for re-election.

And the Obama and Hillary camps are LEGALLY ALLOWED to give money to those re-election efforts…

INDEPENDENT THINKING….

Now that McCain’s locked it up—a lot of independent voters will no longer need to pull the lever for him in the primaries…

Where will they go?

Hillary or Obama?

Exit polls from what the Ohio/Texas races indicated Hillary picked up a lot of last minute voters—folks who made their decision days–if not hours– before casting their ballots…

Will the independents turn the tide for her in Pennsylvania?

It’s quite possible Pennsylvania won’t clarify things much. I’m speculating this battle will roll right through ALL the primaries—and into the weeks ahead of the convention.
