Comedian Carrie Snow says, “No day is so bad, it can’t be fixed with a nap.“
And she’s probably right—IF the nap comes at the right place and time…
Sometimes, all of us—even your intrepid blogger—fall victim to the sandman’s whims.
But napping isn’t a sign of laziness—oh no…
A new study conducted at the University of Dusseldorf indicates napping makes you SMARTER!
You can read about it in detail here—- but the basic theory is that short 5 or 10 minute naps can actually improve your mental abilities…
So, next time you feel yourself getting a little dumb—grab a power nap…
Of course—it’s important you pick the right moment to have that little intelligence booster.
You shouldn’t try it if you’re in the middle of doing something important like eating a meal—or flying a plane…
But that’s what occurred the other day when a pair of pilots from GO! Airlines were flying to Hawaii.
You can read here how their jet drifted off course for 15 miles after it overshot the Hilo Airport.
Their little rendezvous with dreamland apparently was a BIT longer than a brief power nap, because air traffic controllers couldn’t contact of the crew for 25 minutes!
And, if you’re in the middle of listening to a state of the union address— you should try NOT to look like you’re taking a nap…
John McCain said he was reading the text of the speech… Others thought differently…
There was no speech text to read here—so we can only presume Bill Clinton was trying to smarten up……
