When Pigs Are Decried…
Pity the Three Little Pigs…
Seems they can’t show their snouts around anymore—without offending someone…
The story of the porky trio has been with us for generations in a thousand different variations…
But now—the pigs latest incarnation is setting off a a huge firestorm of controversy in Brittan.
There’s a new version of the story out in the form on an interactive pop-up book..
It’s called the three little cowboy builders..
It uses the pig motif—but this time they’re cowboys building houses… You can link to it here.
And wouldn’t you know—folks are offended.
You can read here how the book was rejected for a government sponsored award because the Brits felt the book would be offensive to Muslims…
But wait…There’s more offense in store.
Seems that same panel felt the book would also be offensive to BUILDERS!
Yep, apparently, if a straw or stick house is blown down by the wolf—those who construct such things will get in a snit…
Well.. let’s not stop there!
What about Red Riding Hood? She needs a hunter to save her from the Big Bad Wolf.

It totally disregards equality of the sexes and shows that women are too weak to take care of themselves.

The Wizard is a bumbling humbug… Completely offensive to our political leaders—because people might think they’re as incompetent as the great Oz!
You know, when correctly viewed—everything will offend someone…You just have to look for it.
So, let’s see how far we can take this…
